A Lot Like Birds is an experimental post-hardcore band formed in Sacramento, California, in 2009 by guitarist and composer Michael Franzino. The group combines technical guitar work, unpredictable song structures, post-rock atmosphere, spoken-word passages, melodic singing and intense screamed vocals across albums including Plan B, Conversation Piece, No Place and DIVISI. After disbanding in 2018, the band reunited in 2024 and returned with the 2025 single “When in Love,” featuring Thursday vocalist Geoff Rickly, adding a new chapter to a catalog that includes fan favorites such as “Vanity’s Fair,” “Kuroi Ledge,” “Next to Ungodliness” and “The Sound of Us.”
