Above Snakes is a Boston modern hard rock band built around vocalist Johnny Skulls and guitarist Dax Dabs, combining heavy guitar riffs, melodic hooks and elements of nu-metal and alternative metal. After spending years working in the Los Angeles music scene, Skulls and Dabs returned to Boston and launched Above Snakes with the 2020 single “Adrenaline,” produced by Kile Odell, whose credits include Papa Roach, Nothing More and Motionless in White. The band expanded its catalog with songs including “Never Alone,” “The Broken Ones,” “Down,” “81 (Thallium),” “Crash N Burn,” “Waking The Savage” and “My Resolve,” as well as the All In My Head EP. Their 2026 single “Make Amends,” created with songwriter Johnny Andrews and producer Kile Odell, continued the band's mix of melodic hard rock and heavier modern-rock production, while Above Snakes has also shared stages with acts including From Ashes to New, Drowning Pool, Saliva, Motionless in White, In This Moment and Fire From the Gods.
