Anberlin is an alternative rock band from Winter Haven, Florida, known for combining melodic hooks, emotionally charged songwriting, post-hardcore intensity, and atmospheric guitar-driven rock. The band built a devoted following through albums including Blueprints for the Black Market, Never Take Friendship Personal, Cities, New Surrender, Dark Is the Way, Light Is a Place, Vital, Lowborn, and Vega. Their best-known songs include “Feel Good Drag,” which reached No. 1 at Alternative radio, along with “Paperthin Hymn,” “Godspeed,” “The Unwinding Cable Car,” “A Day Late,” “Impossible,” and “Never Take Friendship Personal.” Stephen Christian provided the distinctive lead vocals throughout the band’s classic era, while Matty Mullins of Memphis May Fire later stepped into the lead-vocal role for touring and new recordings. Anberlin revisited its early material with Nevertake, a reimagining of Never Take Friendship Personal featuring Mullins, and has continued its current era with songs including “High Stakes” and “NEVERAFTER.”
