Anvil is a Canadian heavy metal band from Toronto, formed in the late 1970s and led by founding members Steve “Lips” Kudlow on vocals/guitar and Robb Reiner on drums, with bassist Chris Robertson in the current lineup. Known for loud, fast, influential metal rooted in heavy metal, hard rock, and speed metal, the band helped shape the sound that fed into thrash with classic albums and songs including Hard ’N’ Heavy, Metal on Metal, Forged in Fire, “Metal on Metal,” “March of the Crabs,” “School Love,” and “666.” Their long-running career gained renewed global attention through the documentary Anvil! The Story of Anvil, and the band remains active with recent releases including One and Only and “Feed Your Fantasy.”
