APO Hiking Society is a landmark Filipino pop group formed in 1969, known for melodic songwriting, polished vocal harmonies, humor and a blend of Manila Sound, soft rock and Original Pilipino Music. The act’s classic trio featured Danny Javier, Jim Paredes and Boboy Garrovillo; Paredes and Garrovillo have continued performing the group’s catalog following Javier’s death in 2022. Its enduring repertoire includes “When I Met You,” “Panalangin,” “Batang-Bata Ka Pa,” “Ewan,” “Awit Ng Barkada” and “Pumapatak Ang Ulan.” Decades of widely covered songs and multigenerational concert audiences have established APO as one of the defining groups in Philippine popular music.
