Blues Traveler is a Grammy-winning rock band from Princeton, New Jersey, known for blending blues rock, alternative rock, folk, soul, and improvisational jam-band musicianship around frontman John Popper’s distinctive vocals and virtuoso harmonica playing. The band became a major force in the 1990s with the album Four, which went multi-platinum and produced “Run-Around,” “Hook,” and “The Mountains Win Again,” while earlier favorites include “But Anyway,” “Sweet Pain,” and “Conquer Me.” “Run-Around” won the Grammy Award for Best Rock Performance by a Duo or Group with Vocals, and Blues Traveler also played a pivotal role in the development of the modern jam-band scene by helping launch the H.O.R.D.E. Festival. Their later catalog includes albums such as Straight on Till Morning, Bridge, Suzie Cracks the Whip, Hurry Up & Hang Around, Traveler’s Blues, and Traveler’s Soul, with Traveler’s Blues earning a Grammy nomination for Best Traditional Blues Album.
