Bruno Mars, born Peter Gene Hernandez on October 8, 1985, is an American singer-songwriter, record producer, and dancer known for his three-octave tenor vocal range, retro showmanship, and musical versatility. Raised in Honolulu, Mars gained early recognition for his Elvis Presley impersonations before moving to Los Angeles in 2003 to pursue a career in music. He established himself as a songwriter and co-founder of the production team the Smeezingtons before rising to fame with the US number-one single "Nothin' on You" in 2009. Mars's first three studio albums—Doo-Wops & Hooligans (2010), Unorthodox Jukebox (2012), and 24K Magic (2016)—achieved critical and commercial success, with the latter winning the Grammy Award for Album of the Year.
