Chevelle is an American alternative metal and hard rock band from Illinois built around brothers Pete Loeffler on vocals and guitar and Sam Loeffler on drums. Known for heavy, down-tuned riffs, melodic tension, atmospheric songwriting, and Pete’s dynamic vocals, the band broke into the mainstream with the 2002 album Wonder What’s Next and signature tracks “The Red,” “Send the Pain Below,” “Comfortable Liar,” and “Closure.” Albums including This Type of Thinking (Could Do Us In), Vena Sera, Sci-Fi Crimes, Hats Off to the Bull, La Gárgola, and NIRATIAS expanded their catalog with songs such as “Vitamin R (Leading Us Along),” “The Clincher,” “I Get It,” “Jars,” “Face to the Floor,” and “Take Out the Gunman.” Their tenth studio album, Bright as Blasphemy, arrived in 2025 with tracks including “Rabbit Hole (Cowards, Pt. 1),” “Jim Jones (Cowards, Pt. 2),” and “Pale Horse,” continuing the band’s dense, aggressive approach to modern rock.
