Clave Especial is a Mexican-American regional Mexican group from Salinas, California, blending modern corridos with urban-influenced production and the musical traditions its members grew up hearing in immigrant farmworker families. Led by vocalist Alejandro Ahumada alongside requinto player Leonardo Lomeli and bassist Rogelio Gonzalez, the group broke through with “Rápido Soy” before expanding its audience through songs including “No Pasa Nada” with Fuerza Regida, “No Son Doritos” with Luis R Conriquez, “Como Capo” with Fuerza Regida and “TU TU TU” with Edgardo Nuñez. Their 2025 album MIJA NO TE ASUSTES became a major streaming success, while “Rápido Soy” earned an RIAA Diamond certification and “TU TU TU” reached No. 1 on a Billboard chart. Their collaborations, corrido-driven sound and Mexican-American perspective have placed Clave Especial among the prominent groups of the newer música mexicana generation.
