DJ Snoopadelic is the DJ side of Snoop Dogg, one of the most recognizable figures to come out of the early ’90s G-funk era. While his name was built in hip-hop, his reach has expanded far beyond it, and that range eventually carried into DJing and house without losing the personality and presence that made him a star in the first place.
Raised in Long Beach as Calvin Broadus, he broke through after appearing on “Deep Cover” in 1992 and quickly became central to the success of The Chronic before launching his own landmark debut, Doggystyle. Over time, he evolved from gangsta rap icon into a broader pop culture figure, moving through music, television, film, and other ventures while continuing to adapt his sound and image across different eras.
