Dokken is an American hard rock and heavy metal band formed in Los Angeles in 1978, known for combining Don Dokken’s melodic vocals with sharp guitar work, polished harmonies and the heavier edge of the 1980s Los Angeles metal scene. The band achieved major success with albums including Tooth and Nail, Under Lock and Key and Back for the Attack, producing signature songs such as “Alone Again,” “In My Dreams,” “Just Got Lucky,” “It’s Not Love,” “Burning Like a Flame” and “Dream Warriors.” The classic lineup of Don Dokken, guitarist George Lynch, bassist Jeff Pilson and drummer Mick Brown became the group’s best-known configuration, while the live album Beast from the East earned a Grammy nomination for Best Metal Performance. After several lineup changes and reunions, Dokken continued recording with Don Dokken at the helm, releasing its 13th studio album, Heaven Comes Down, in 2023.
