Ekolu is a Hawaiian island reggae band from Maui known for smooth harmonies, laid-back grooves, romantic island-reggae songs, and a sound that helped shape modern Hawaiian reggae. Formed in the 1990s, the group released its debut album Down in the Valley in 1999 and built a long-running catalog with fan favorites including “I Love You Girl,” “Honestly,” “Shores of Waiehu,” “She’s Music to Me,” “Down in the Valley,” and “We Are Hawaii’s Finest.” More than 25 years into their career, Ekolu remains one of Hawaiʻi’s signature island-reggae acts, representing Maui through original music, live shows, and a deep connection to local reggae culture.
