Elefante is a Latin Grammy-nominated Mexican pop-rock band formed in Mexico City in the early 1990s. The group blends rock en español with acoustic pop, trova and ranchera influences, pairing melodic arrangements with emotionally direct songs about love, heartbreak and everyday life. Elefante broke through with the 2001 album El Que Busca Encuentra and enduring hits including “Así Es la Vida,” “De la Noche a la Mañana,” “La Que Se Fue,” “Sabor a Chocolate,” “Durmiendo con la Luna,” “El Abandonao” and “Mentirosa.” After more than three decades of activity and several vocalist changes, the band continues touring with Javier “Javi” Ortega as its lead singer.
