Empire of the Sun is an Australian electronic-pop duo formed by Luke Steele of The Sleepy Jackson and Nick Littlemore of PNAU, known for pairing cinematic synth-pop with an elaborate visual world of futuristic costumes, fantasy imagery, and theatrical performance. Their breakthrough debut Walking on a Dream produced the global hits “Walking on a Dream” and “We Are the People,” followed by Ice on the Dune with “Alive” and “DNA,” and Two Vines with “High and Low” and “Way to Go.” The duo returned with Ask That God, featuring songs including “Changes,” “Music on the Radio,” “Cherry Blossom,” and the title track. Empire of the Sun have sold millions of albums worldwide, accumulated billions of streams, and earned eight ARIA Awards and two APRA Awards while becoming one of Australia’s most internationally recognized electronic acts.
