Epik High is a South Korean alternative hip-hop trio consisting of rappers Tablo and Mithra Jin and producer/DJ Tukutz, known for combining intricate lyricism and emotionally direct storytelling with hip-hop, electronic music, rock, jazz, and pop influences. The group became one of the most influential acts in Korean hip-hop through albums including Remapping the Human Soul, Epilogue, Shoebox, We’ve Done Something Wonderful, and the two-part Epik High Is Here, while songs such as “Fly,” “Love Love Love,” “Umbrella” featuring Younha, “Born Hater,” “LOVE STORY” featuring IU, and “Rosario” featuring CL and ZICO became defining parts of their catalog. Their writing frequently explores relationships, depression, social pressure, ambition, and identity, helping bridge Korea’s underground hip-hop culture with a much broader international audience. Later releases including Strawberry and PUMP have continued the trio’s balance of sharp rap, experimentation, humor, and introspection.
