Fat Joe is a Bronx rapper and hip-hop veteran whose career spans hardcore East Coast rap, mainstream hip-hop, and Latin influence. Born Joseph Cartagena, he emerged through the Diggin’ in the Crates Crew (D.I.T.C.) and launched his solo career as Fat Joe da Gangsta with Represent, featuring the No. 1 rap single “Flow Joe.” Albums including Don Cartagena, Jealous Ones Still Envy (J.O.S.E.), Me, Myself & I, The Darkside Vol. 1, and Family Ties helped build a catalog that includes “What’s Luv?” with Ashanti, “Make It Rain” with Lil Wayne, “Sunshine (The Light),” and “All the Way Up” with Remy Ma. Joe also founded Terror Squad, the collective behind the No. 1 hit “Lean Back,” and played an important role in the careers of fellow Bronx artists including Big Pun and Remy Ma.
