Free Throw is a Nashville emo and punk band known for combining twinkling guitar lines, pop-punk energy, post-hardcore intensity, and deeply personal songwriting. Led by vocalist/guitarist Cory Castro, the group built a devoted following with the 2014 album Those Days Are Gone, which includes fan favorites such as “Two Beers In,” “Hey Ken, Someone Methodically Mushed the Donuts,” “Tongue Tied,” and “Pallet Town.” Later albums including Bear Your Mind, What’s Past Is Prologue, Piecing It Together, and Lessons That We Swear to Keep expanded their sound while maintaining the raw emotion and melodic guitar interplay associated with modern Midwest emo. Their sixth studio album, Moments Before The Wind, arrived in 2026 through Wax Bodega, featuring tracks including “MissingNo.,” “Mike Nolan’s Long Weekend,” “A Hero’s Grave,” and “The Waters Of Life.”
