Geoff Tate is an American heavy metal and progressive rock vocalist, songwriter, and former lead singer of Queensrÿche, widely known for his powerful range, theatrical delivery, and concept-driven songwriting. As the voice behind Queensrÿche’s classic era, he helped define albums such as Operation: Mindcrime, Empire, and Promised Land, with signature songs including “Silent Lucidity,” “Eyes of a Stranger,” “Jet City Woman,” “I Don’t Believe in Love,” and “Empire.” Tate has continued as a solo artist and with the Operation: Mindcrime project, including the 2026 release Operation: Mindcrime III, keeping his work rooted in dramatic storytelling, progressive metal, and hard rock.
