Gouge Away is a South Florida hardcore punk band led by vocalist Christina Michelle, known for combining abrasive post-hardcore, noise rock and punk intensity with grunge, shoegaze and melodic quiet-loud dynamics. The group emerged from the Fort Lauderdale underground with the politically charged 2016 debut , Dies, followed by the more personal and expansive Burnt Sugar and the critically acclaimed 2024 album Deep Sage. Its defining songs include “Uproar,” “Only Friend,” “Ghost,” “Idealized,” “Stuck in a Dream,” “Maybe Blue” and “Dallas.” After joining Run for Cover Records, Gouge Away opened its next chapter with the 2026 single “Figurine,” continuing the emotionally direct and deliberately unpolished sound that has distinguished the band within modern hardcore.
