Grade 2 is a British punk rock trio formed in Ryde on the Isle of Wight in 2013, known for its raw, fast-paced sound, melodic hooks, and socially conscious lyrics rooted in traditional punk and Oi! music. Formed by childhood friends Sid Ryan, Jack Chatfield, and Jacob Hull while they were still in school, the band developed its reputation through independent releases and extensive international touring. Its discography includes Mainstream View (2016), Break the Routine (2018), Graveyard Island (2019), Grade 2 (2023), and Talk About It (2026), with standout songs such as "Under the Streetlight," "Midnight Ferry," "Brassic," "Hanging Onto You," and "Cut Throat." Signed to Hellcat Records, Grade 2 combines energetic guitar-driven arrangements with lyrics exploring working-class life, personal struggles, relationships, and the challenges of growing up.
