Hamilton de Holanda is a Brazilian bandolinist, composer, improviser, and bandleader whose virtuosic approach connects choro, samba, Brazilian popular music, and contemporary jazz. Born in Rio de Janeiro and raised in Brasília from infancy, he began performing as a child prodigy and later helped expand the expressive range of the bandolim by developing his signature 10-string version of the instrument. His extensive catalog includes 01 Byte 10 Cordas, Brasilianos, Samba de Chico, Maxixe Samba Groove, Samurai - A Música de Djavan, the Gonzalo Rubalcaba collaboration COLLAB, Tembla with C4 Trío, Hamilton de Holanda Trio - Live in NYC, and the 2026 album NOVA. He has recorded or performed with artists including Wynton Marsalis, Chick Corea, Chucho Valdés, Hermeto Pascoal, Gilberto Gil, Béla Fleck, John Paul Jones, and Yamandu Costa, and has won five Latin Grammy Awards.
