Incantation is an American death metal band formed in 1989 and long associated with the New York death metal scene. Led by guitarist and vocalist John McEntee, the band is known for cavernous riffs, guttural vocals, blasphemous atmosphere, death-doom weight, and underground extreme-metal influence stretching back to its landmark 1992 debut Onward to Golgotha. Their catalog includes albums such as Mortal Throne of Nazarene, Diabolical Conquest, The Infernal Storm, Decimate Christendom, Vanquish in Vengeance, Dirges of Elysium, Profane Nexus, Sect of Vile Divinities, and Unholy Deification, with live activity including The Summer Slaughter Tour 2026 with Hatebreed, Terror, Gates to Hell, Torture, and Creeping Death.
