Jay & Silent Bob are the comedy duo and pop-culture personas performed by longtime collaborators Jason Mewes and filmmaker Kevin Smith, with Mewes as the fast-talking Jay and Smith as the mostly silent Silent Bob. Introduced in Smith’s cult independent film Clerks, the characters became fixtures of the interconnected View Askewniverse through Mallrats, Chasing Amy, Dogma, Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back, Clerks II, Jay and Silent Bob Reboot and Clerks III. Mewes and Smith have also taken their chemistry beyond film with live comedy appearances and the long-running Jay & Silent Bob Get Old podcast, mixing candid stories, filmmaking experiences, friendship and irreverent pop-culture humor.
