Jill Scott is an American singer-songwriter, poet, actor, and producer from Philadelphia, known for neo-soul, R&B, jazz-inflected vocals, spoken-word lyricism, and warm, emotionally rich storytelling. She broke through with her landmark 2000 debut Who Is Jill Scott?: Words and Sounds, Vol. 1 and built a major catalog with songs including “A Long Walk,” “He Loves Me (Lyzel in E Flat),” “The Way,” “Golden,” “Cross My Mind,” “So In Love,” and “Blessed.” A three-time Grammy Award winner, Scott remains one of neo-soul’s defining voices, and her 2026 album To Whom This May Concern marked her first full-length release in more than a decade.
