Jimmy Webb is an American songwriter, international touring artist, and author renowned for timeless hits like “Wichita Lineman,” “Up, Up and Away,” and “MacArthur Park,” which have been performed and recorded by legendary artists such as Glen Campbell, Frank Sinatra, and Barbra Streisand. His versatility extends to classical compositions and even a rap hit with Kanye West. Webb is the only artist to have won Grammy Awards for music, lyrics, and orchestration, and he is ranked among the top 50 songwriters of all time by Rolling Stone. His accolades include the Ivor Novello International Award and the Academy of Country Music’s Poet Award. Trained in Motown, Webb’s first book, “Tunesmith: Inside the Art of Songwriting,” is considered essential reading for musicians, and his memoir, “The Cake and the Rain,” was published in 2017. In 2019, he released “SlipCover,” featuring piano arrangements of contemporary composers. Married to PBS host Laura Savini, Webb is a proud father of six children and a grandfather.
