J.J. Fad is an American female hip-hop group from Rialto, California, best known for the 1988 electro-rap classic “Supersonic.” The group became one of Ruthless Records’ breakthrough acts, with production tied to Dr. Dre, DJ Yella, Arabian Prince, and Eazy-E, and “Supersonic” earned a Grammy nomination while later reaching new audiences through samples and references in songs such as Fergie’s “Fergalicious.” The current trio—Baby D, Sassy C, and MC J.B.—continues to perform on classic hip-hop, freestyle, and throwback concert lineups.
