Jose Mari Chan is a Filipino singer-songwriter and composer whose romantic ballads and Christmas recordings have made him one of the most enduring figures in Original Pilipino Music. Beginning his recording career in the late 1960s, he became known for songs including “Beautiful Girl,” “Can We Just Stop and Talk a While,” “Refrain,” “A Love to Last a Lifetime,” “Constant Change,” and “Please Be Careful With My Heart,” his duet with Regine Velasquez. His 1989 album Constant Change became a landmark release in his career, while Christmas in Our Hearts produced the title track and “A Perfect Christmas,” songs that became deeply associated with the Philippine Christmas season. His catalog spans pop, adult contemporary, easy listening, love songs, and holiday music across a recording career of more than five decades.
