Jumaane Smith is an American jazz trumpeter, vocalist, composer, and bandleader whose music blends jazz, blues, soul, and R&B. A graduate of Juilliard’s inaugural Jazz Studies program, where Wynton Marsalis was his primary trumpet teacher, Smith has built a long career as Michael Bublé’s featured trumpeter and vocalist while also working with artists including Stevie Wonder, Quincy Jones, Aretha Franklin, Herbie Hancock, Alicia Keys, Barbra Streisand, and Jon Batiste. His solo catalog includes I Only Have Eyes for You, featuring Michael Bublé, Jackie Evancho, and Naturally 7; When You’re Smiling; and the soul-jazz and blues-focused Come On Home. Smith has performed on five Grammy Award-winning recordings and also appeared as a trumpet soloist on screen in Steven Spielberg’s West Side Story.
