Kansas is an American progressive and classic rock band formed in Topeka, Kansas, and launched nationally with its self-titled debut album in 1974. Known for intricate arrangements, hard-rock power, prominent violin and melodic songwriting, the band achieved worldwide success with the multi-Platinum albums Leftoverture and Point of Know Return and enduring songs including “Carry On Wayward Son,” “Dust in the Wind” and “Point of Know Return.” Kansas has sold more than 30 million albums worldwide and continues touring with a lineup that carries its signature sound into newer material such as The Absence of Presence.
