Katchafire is a Māori roots-reggae band formed in Kirikiriroa/Hamilton, New Zealand, in 1997. Originally launched as a Bob Marley tribute group, the band developed an original sound that blends classic roots reggae with R&B, funk, dancehall and polished pop melodies. Its catalog includes Revival, Slow Burning, Say What You’re Thinking, On the Road Again and Legacy, along with fan favorites such as “Giddy Up,” “Love Letter,” “Get Away,” “Down With You” and “Addicted.” “Giddy Up” became New Zealand’s highest-selling single of 2002, helping establish Katchafire as one of the country’s most internationally recognized reggae acts.
