Lewis Black is an American stand-up comedian, actor, author and playwright famous for transforming exasperation into a distinctive comedy style of explosive rants, animated finger-pointing and sharply written satire. He became a signature presence on The Daily Show through his long-running “Back in Black” segments, using politics, consumer culture and everyday absurdity as fuel for his famously irritated delivery. His extensive stand-up catalog includes Rules of Enragement, The Carnegie Hall Performance, Stark Raving Black, In God We Rust, Black to the Future and Thanks for Risking Your Life, with The Carnegie Hall Performance earning a Grammy Award for Best Comedy Album. Black has also written more than 40 plays and several books and reached another generation of audiences as the voice of Anger in Pixar’s Inside Out.
