Lita Ford is a British-born American guitarist, singer, and songwriter who became a pioneering figure in hard rock as lead guitarist for The Runaways before building a successful solo career in heavy metal and glam metal. Her breakthrough solo album Lita arrived in 1988 and produced two of her defining songs: the hard-rock anthem “Kiss Me Deadly” and “Close My Eyes Forever,” her hit duet with Ozzy Osbourne. Ford continued with albums including Stiletto, Dangerous Curves, and Living Like a Runaway, along with tracks such as “Shot of Poison,” “Playin’ with Fire,” “Gotta Let Go,” and “Back to the Cave.” A two-time Grammy nominee recognized for both her guitar work and powerful rock vocals, Ford remains one of the most prominent women to emerge from the classic hard-rock and metal era.
