Lizzy & The Triggermen is a Los Angeles-based jazz and swing band led by vocalist and songwriter Lizzy Shapiro, combining the sound of 1930s and ’40s big-band swing with contemporary songwriting, theatrical flair and modern arrangements. Built as a full-scale ensemble with horns, rhythm section, guitar, violin and vocals, the group performs both reworked standards and originals including “Outta Your League,” “Dance Song (For the End of the World)” and “Eve’s Lament.” Their debut EP Good Songs for Bad Times reached No. 3 on the U.S. iTunes Jazz Albums chart, while the 2025 album Live at Joe’s Pub captured the band’s live repertoire with interpretations of songs such as “When I Get Low I Get High,” “La Vie en rose” and “When That Man Is Dead and Gone.” Their sound draws heavily from vintage swing and jazz while avoiding a strictly nostalgic approach through Shapiro’s modern lyrics and the band’s energetic arrangements.
