Mariachi Herencia de México is a Chicago-based mariachi ensemble formed in 2016 and recognized as one of the leading young groups carrying traditional Mexican music into a new generation. The 14-member, bicultural ensemble has earned two Latin Grammy nominations for Best Ranchero/Mariachi Album, first for its 2017 debut Nuestra Herencia and again for 2022’s Herederos. Its catalog also includes Herencia de la Tierra Mía, Esencia, Esencia, Vol. 2 and Viva La Música, with recordings such as “El Gavilán,” “Escándalo,” “Hay Unos Ojos” featuring Lupita Infante, “Inolvidable,” “Preciosa,” “La Murga” and “Amada Mía.” The group has toured extensively across North America while combining the instrumentation, vocal traditions and showmanship of classic mariachi with the perspective of a new Mexican-American generation.
