Prostitute is a Dearborn, Michigan noise rock and experimental post-punk band whose abrasive sound combines hardcore intensity, warped guitars, corrosive electronics, and samples drawn from Middle Eastern, African, and East Asian music. Founded by vocalist Moe Kazra and drummer Andrew Kaster, the group expanded with Dylan Zaranski, Ross Babinski, and Bret Wall and developed a confrontational style shaped by Arab-American identity, political alienation, religion, violence, and cultural tension. Their debut album Attempted Martyr introduced tracks including “All Hail,” “Judge,” “M. Dada,” “Body Meat,” “Senegal,” and “Joumana Kayrouz,” pairing chaotic instrumentation with dense narrative songwriting and dark humor. The band later signed with Mute, bringing the album to a wider international audience while continuing to push further into Arabic rhythmic and electronic influences.
