Rich Hall is an American stand-up comedian, writer and musician known for deadpan delivery, sharp cultural satire, improvisational audience work and musical comedy. He first gained prominence writing and performing on programs including Fridays, Not Necessarily the News and Saturday Night Live, and later became a familiar presence on British television through QI, Have I Got News for You and a series of acclaimed BBC documentaries. Hall also created the guitar-playing country-comedy character Otis Lee Crenshaw, which earned him the prestigious Perrier Comedy Award at the 2000 Edinburgh Festival Fringe. His live shows continue to mix tightly written observations, spontaneous crowd interaction and original comedy songs.
