Shayne Smith is an American stand-up comedian, writer, podcaster, and musician known for story-driven comedy that contrasts his heavily tattooed appearance with an upbeat, self-deprecating, and often surreal perspective. He began performing stand-up in Utah in 2014 and gained early recognition through Wiseguys Comedy Club and City Weekly, which named him Best Alternative Comedian in 2016. His comedy specials include Prison for Wizards, Alligator Boys, The Animal, Banned from Karate, Ghosts Are Real, and the 2025 Angel Studios/Dry Bar release Kangaroo Killer, which turns his problems securing an Australian work visa into an extended narrative involving government scrutiny, an FBI mix-up, and kangaroos. Smith also co-hosts the Backyard Rodeo podcast and has worked as a vocalist with the band Painted Devils.
