STARSET is an American cinematic rock band from Columbus, Ohio, led by vocalist, songwriter, and multi-instrumentalist Dustin Bates. Their music blends alternative metal, electronic rock, progressive rock, hard rock, orchestral elements, and science-fiction-inspired storytelling into an immersive multimedia concept that extends across albums, videos, graphic novels, and live production. The band broke through with the 2014 album Transmissions and songs including “My Demons,” “Carnivore,” and “It Has Begun,” followed by major releases such as Vessels, DIVISIONS, HORIZONS, and the 2025 album SILOS. Tracks including “Monster,” “MANIFEST,” “TRIALS,” “ECHO,” “BRAVE NEW WORLD,” “TOKSIK,” and “DARK THINGS” showcase their mix of heavy guitars, electronics, cinematic atmosphere, and melodic hooks, while newer material including “WE ARE EMPIRE” and “p a r a d 0 x 1 c” continues the project’s futuristic sound and mythology.
