Steelheart is an American hard-rock and glam-metal band formed in Norwalk, Connecticut, and led by Croatian-born vocalist, songwriter, and founder Miljenko Matijević. The group broke through with its 1990 self-titled debut and soaring power ballads such as “I’ll Never Let You Go (Angel Eyes)” and “She’s Gone,” followed by songs including “Everybody Loves Eileen,” “Can’t Stop Me Lovin’ You,” “Mama Don’t You Cry,” and “We All Die Young.” Matijević later provided the singing voice for Mark Wahlberg’s character in the 2001 film Rock Star, connecting Steelheart’s music to the fictional band Steel Dragon, while the modern Steelheart continues recording and touring around his distinctive multi-octave vocals.
