Stone Temple Pilots is an American alternative-rock band formed in San Diego in 1989. The group became one of the defining rock acts of the 1990s by combining grunge-era heaviness with hard rock, psychedelia, glam and melodic pop songwriting across landmark albums including Core, Purple, Tiny Music... Songs from the Vatican Gift Shop and No. 4. Its catalog includes the Grammy-winning “Plush” and enduring hits such as “Interstate Love Song,” “Vasoline,” “Creep,” “Big Empty” and “Trippin’ on a Hole in a Paper Heart,” while the current lineup continues the band’s legacy with vocalist Jeff Gutt.
