Taper’s Choice is a California-based jam band made up of established indie-rock musicians who channel a deep love for improvisation, exploratory live performance, and Dead-inspired sounds. Their music blends heady, ethereal jams with more structured songwriting, giving them a style that feels both rooted in the jam tradition and shaped by their indie-rock backgrounds.
Formed in 2021, the group features Alex Bleeker, Dave Harrington, Chris Tomson, and Zach Tenorio-Miller, musicians who came together through a shared connection to the jam scene despite being better known from other projects. Emerging from the Los Angeles scene, they quickly made an impression with a sold-out debut and built a reputation as a “subversive” and unapologetic live act.
