The Blue Stones are a Canadian rock duo formed by guitarist and vocalist Tarek Jafar and drummer and vocalist Justin Tessier, longtime friends who began playing together in Windsor, Ontario. Their sound combines blues rock and alternative rock with modern R&B, psychedelic, and electronic textures, earning wider attention through songs including “Shakin’ Off the Rust,” “Black Holes (Solid Ground),” “Be My Fire,” “Rolling with the Punches,” and “Let It Ride.” Their albums Black Holes, Hidden Gems, Pretty Monster, and METRO trace an increasingly modern approach to their two-piece rock format, while the duo earned a 2020 JUNO Award nomination for Breakthrough Group of the Year.
