The Clark Sisters are a pioneering gospel vocal group from Detroit whose intricate harmonies, powerful lead vocals, and blend of traditional gospel with soul, funk, R&B, and contemporary production helped shape modern gospel music. Guided early in their career by their mother, influential choir director and musician Dr. Mattie Moss Clark, the sisters built a landmark catalog that includes “Is My Living in Vain,” “Endow Me,” “Jesus Is a Love Song,” “Name It Claim It,” “Blessed & Highly Favored,” and their signature crossover hit “You Brought the Sunshine.” Albums including Sincerely, Heart & Soul, Conqueror, Live: One Last Time, and The Return helped establish them as one of gospel’s most influential vocal groups. Live: One Last Time and “Blessed & Highly Favored” earned the group two competitive Grammy Awards, and The Clark Sisters later received a Grammy Lifetime Achievement Award. Their influence extends well beyond gospel into R&B and pop, and they have collaborated with artists including Snoop Dogg, Mary J. Blige, and Mariah Carey, appearing with Carey on “Jesus I Do.”
