The Front Bottoms are a New Jersey indie-rock and folk-punk duo formed by vocalist-guitarist Brian Sella and drummer Mat Uychich. Known for conversational storytelling, acoustic-driven punk arrangements and emotionally direct lyrics, the band developed a devoted following through extensive touring and releases including The Front Bottoms, Talon of the Hawk, Back on Top, Going Grey, In Sickness & In Flames and You Are Who You Hang Out With. Their best-known songs include “Twin Size Mattress,” “Maps,” “Be Nice to Me,” “Flashlight,” “The Beers,” “Skeleton” and “Cough It Out.” Their concerts expand the core duo with additional touring musicians while preserving the loose, communal energy that has made them a defining act within modern folk-punk and emo-adjacent indie rock.
