The Grass Roots is an American pop-rock band whose hit-filled run in the late 1960s and early 1970s made the group a fixture of classic AM radio. Created in Los Angeles in 1965 by songwriters and producers P.F. Sloan and Steve Barri, the project evolved into a touring band centered around vocalist and bassist Rob Grill, alongside musicians including Warren Entner, Creed Bratton, and Rick Coonce. The Grass Roots scored a long string of chart hits including “Let’s Live for Today,” “Midnight Confessions,” “Sooner or Later,” “Temptation Eyes,” “I’d Wait a Million Years,” and “Two Divided by Love,” combining melodic pop-rock with folk-rock, soul, and horn-driven arrangements. The legacy continues today with a touring lineup led by vocalist/bassist Mark Dawson, performing the band’s classic catalog for audiences across the United States.
