The Haunted is a Swedish heavy metal band from Gothenburg known for an aggressive blend of thrash metal, melodic death metal, and groove metal. Formed by musicians with roots in At the Gates, Seance, and other influential Swedish acts, the band established itself with its 1998 self-titled debut and expanded its reputation through albums including The Haunted Made Me Do It, One Kill Wonder, rEVOLVEr, The Dead Eye, Exit Wounds, and Strength in Numbers. Songs such as “Hate Song,” “Bury Your Dead,” “D.O.A.,” “99,” “All Against All,” and “Preachers of Death” showcase the group’s combination of precision riffing, hardcore intensity, and melodic Swedish metal. After an extended gap between studio records, The Haunted returned with the 2025 album Songs of Last Resort, featuring “Warhead,” “In Fire Reborn,” and “Death to the Crown.”
