The HU burst onto the international music scene in 2016 with a unique blend of Mongolian throat singing and heavy metal, creating what they call "Hunnu Rock." Their sound is both primal and electrifying, drawing on ancient traditions while pushing the boundaries of contemporary rock. This fusion not only captivates audiences but also highlights the rich cultural heritage of Mongolia.
Formed in Ulaanbaatar, The HU quickly gained global recognition with their debut album "The Gereg," which topped charts and earned critical acclaim from major publications. Their success led to collaborations with renowned artists like Jacoby Shaddix and Lzzy Hale, as well as a cover for Metallica's "Metallica Blacklist." In 2022, they released "Rumble Of Thunder" and toured extensively across continents, performing at prestigious festivals such as Coachella and Download Festival. Their cultural impact was further solidified when they became the first rock/metal band to receive UNESCO’s “Artist of Peace” designation in November 2022.
