The Midnight is an American synthwave duo formed in Los Angeles by singer-songwriter Tyler Lyle and Danish producer Tim McEwan. Their music blends retro synthesizers, saxophone, electronic production and arena-sized rock with lyrics centered on nostalgia, youth, romance and the passage of time. After debuting with the 2014 EP Days of Thunder, the duo became one of synthwave’s leading acts through releases including Endless Summer, Nocturnal, Kids, Monsters, Heroes and Syndicate. Their best-known songs include “Sunset,” “Los Angeles,” “Vampires,” “Jason,” “Lost Boy,” “Deep Blue” and “Days of Thunder,” while their concerts expand the electronic recordings into a full-band live experience.
