Thrice is an influential alternative rock and post-hardcore band from Irvine, California, known for continually expanding beyond its punk and hardcore roots into progressive rock, art rock, electronic textures, and atmospheric songwriting. The longtime lineup of Dustin Kensrue on vocals and guitar, Teppei Teranishi on guitar and keyboards, Eddie Breckenridge on bass, and Riley Breckenridge on drums first built a devoted following with The Illusion of Safety before reaching a wider audience with The Artist in the Ambulance and songs including “The Artist in the Ambulance,” “Stare at the Sun,” “All That’s Left,” and “Under a Killing Moon.” Albums such as Vheissu, the four-part elemental concept project The Alchemy Index, Beggars, To Be Everywhere Is to Be Nowhere, Horizons/East, and Horizons/West showcase the band’s continual evolution, while later favorites include “Black Honey,” “Hurricane,” “The Grey,” “Beyond the Pines,” “Scavengers,” and “Gnash.” Thrice also revisited one of its defining records with The Artist in the Ambulance - Revisited, re-recording the album with guest vocalists from across the alternative and post-hardcore scenes.
