Toadies are an American alternative rock band from Fort Worth, Texas, known for combining grunge, hard rock, punk energy, and a distinctive Southern edge. Led by vocalist, guitarist, and primary songwriter Vaden Todd Lewis, the band broke through with the 1994 platinum-selling album Rubberneck and its signature track “Possum Kingdom,” alongside fan favorites such as “Tyler,” “I Come from the Water,” “Away,” “Backslider,” and “I Burn.” Later albums including Hell Below / Stars Above, No Deliverance, Play.Rock.Music., Heretics, and The Lower Side of Uptown expanded their mix of distorted guitars, unconventional rhythms, dark storytelling, and Texas-rock influences. Their 2026 album The Charmer was recorded live in the studio with legendary producer Steve Albini, capturing the band’s raw four-piece sound on one of the final albums he recorded.
